Symmetry and small oscillations
Symmetries in linearized motions around equilibrium points of mechanical systems are investigated. A method is presented, to use a symmetry to reduce the effective number of the degrees of freedom of the small oscillations of the system (and so simplfy the determination of the normal modes and frequencies).
